William Weber West, 93 of Gainesville, Texas passed away on June 2, 2021. He was born on April 7, 1928 in Atchison, Kansas to Lee West and Elizabeth (Weber) West. He married Mary Ellen Peyrot on May 17, 1951 in Gainesville, Texas. William enlisted in the U.S. Army on January 5, 1951 in Gainesville, Texas and was a Sargant and served during the Korean War.
Williams owned and operated a 30,000 chicken egg farm, Embry Egg Farm, for 20 years. He also worked at the Gainesville State School for 11 years . William and Mary loved volunteering also at the State School for over 20 years. William was a loving father, husband and grandfather. William was also a member of St. Mary’s Church in Gainesville, Texas.
William is survived by his wife, Mary West; son, John West and wife Roberta (Bobbie) of Gainesville, Texas; grandchildren, Brian and Brook West of Gainesville, Texas, Jerry Archibald of Gainesville, Texas, Matthew White of Gainesville, Texas and Allen White of Decatur, Texas; 4 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; sister, Ida Edwards of Tennessee.
Preceded in Death: parents; daughter, Pamela Marie White and 2 sisters.
Visitation on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 from 5:00-6:00 pm at Meador Funeral Home, 1204 E. California Street, Gainesville, Texas. Rosary will be from 6:00-8:00 pm that evening. Funeral Service on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at 10:00 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Gainesville, Texas. Interment to follow at New Resthaven Cemetery, Gainesville, Texas.

Bill was a great man. I will always remember his passion for serving, especially the boys at the State School. I was lucky to spend even just a little bit of time with him in prayer over the years.
My heart and prayers are being lifted for the West and White families.
