March 17, 1935 –  June 12, 2009  COLLINSVILLE â?? Memorial Services for William Carson â??Billâ? Griner, Sr., 74, will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2009 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Rev. Rick Carney officiating.
Bill passed away on Friday, June 12, 2009 at the Presbyterian Hospital of Denton.

He was born on March 17, 1935 to Ludlow Griner and Louise (Burch) Griner. Bill served in the U.S. Navy. He married Sophia Spoto on Feb. 11, 1971. He worked for Frito Lay for 38 years, retiring in 1997 to open the Coyote Trading Co. in Collinsville. Work was Billâ??s hobby, as well as visiting with people. He loved his family and travelled many miles watching his childrenâ??s high school sporting events. He also loved to fish with his sons. Bill was generous; once donating white overalls and maroon shirts to the Collinsville High School Band. He also donated clothing from his business to children in need.

Survivors include his wife, Sophia of Collinsville, 3 sons, William Griner, Jr. and wife, Diane of Southmayd, Thorpe Griner and wife Emily of Denton, and Courts Griner and fiancée Ann Perkins of Denton, a daughter, Macey Arel and husband Steve of Denton, and a granddaughter, Isla Arel.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Steven Griner, a sister, Jean Griner, and a brother, Bob Griner.
