April 27, 1938 –  January 29, 2017  COLLINSVILLE – Funeral Services for Thomas “Tom” Sylvester Davis, Jr., 78, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Scott Sides officiating. Interment will follow at Collinsville Cemetery. A family visitation will be held Wednesday, February 1st from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Tom passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2017 after an extended illness. Tom was born on April 27, 1938 in Sayre, Oklahoma to Thomas S. and Ida E. (Spalding) Davis, Sr. He married Georgia “Lou” Louvean Riddle on December 29, 1984 in Gainesville. Tom proudly served eight years in the U.S. Navy and had achieved the rank of Petty Officer Second Class when he was honorably discharged in 1968. He taught electronics for several years at Cooke County College and worked for many years as a Master Electrician. Tom retired with more than 25 years of service from his career as a BNSF Railway locomotive engineer. Tom was a father and a grandfather to all and was devoted to his home and family. Survivors include his daughters Radonna Vollmer and husband, John of Dallas and their children Cody Jenkins, Darren Jenkins, Rachael Vollmer and Jack Vollmer; Loretta Sills of Sherman and her daughters, Lacey Lucas and husband, Carl; Molly Payette and husband, Ethan and Carrie Sills; Tina Levernoch and husband, Leonard of Gainesville and their children, T.J. Brooks and wife, Amberlee, and Ashley Brooks; Elizabeth Burnett of Burleson and her son, Jason Hudson; brother, Charles Davis and wife, Susan of Enterprise, Alabama; brother, Wesley “Wes” Davis and wife, Patricia of Texarkana; sister, Judikay Humes and husband, Ralph of Hooks, Texas; several great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Ida Davis; his sister, Dorothy Davis; brother, Edward Davis and by his first wife, Wanda Davis and by his wife, Lou Davis.
