Therese Jeannette (Jean) Cupitte Lassen (80) passed away peacefully in her sleep on Jan 9th in Whitesboro TX.

She was known to most that met her as “Gramma Jean.” She was born December 26th, 1940 in Mobile, AL and was proud of her southern roots.  She was a strong independent woman who left home at 13 and forged her destiny as she traveled alone across the country finding work at cafes along the way.

She landed in Phoenix AZ thanks to a chance decision on her way to California. She married Tage Nielsen Lassen (from Denmark) in 1955 and they raised their children in the Phoenix area.

She lost her beloved spouse in 1973 and her daughter Linda in 2019.

She is survived by a family that loves her including her daughter Kirsten, 5 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and her sister Sean.

Services and interment will be held on January 21st at 2:00pm at the Oakwood-Whitesboro Cemetery.
