April 12, 1920 – August 29, 2008 CARROLLTON รข?? Funeral Services for Thelma Jewel Pierson, 88, will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, August 31, 2008 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Rhonda Hinrichs (granddaughter of Mrs. Pierson) officiating. Interment will follow in Tioga Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Sunday prior to the service.
Thelma passed away Friday, August 29, 2008 at her home in Carrollton.
She was born April 12, 1920 in Gunter, Texas to Wyatt Myron and Mattie Myrtle (Cox) Dunnam. She married David Isaac Pierson on Nov. 30, 1935 in Benjamin, Texas. She was a homemaker and was Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth David Pierson and wife Dianna of Rawlins, Wyoming and Richard Keith Pierson and wife Debra of Whitesboro, two daughters, Larita Joyce Pierson of Carrollton and Judy Elaine Hester and husband Roger of Rowlett, a sister, Mary Virginia Price of Carrollton, a sister in law, Ida Mae Dunnam of Tioga, twelve grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wyatt and Mattie Dunnam, her husband, David Pierson, a daughter, Lavonna Vanell Pierson, six brothers, Leland, Weldon, Floyd, Francis Marion, Aude and Johnnie Dunnam, and a sister, Edna Large.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Dorrell, Ryan Dorrell, Zachary Dorrell, Justin Patzig, Mike Patzig, Mike Harris, David Settimi, David Hester and Chad Hinrichs.
