July 5, 1932 –  February 25, 2010  WHITESBORO รข?? Funeral services for Ted C. Dutton, 77, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, March 1, 2010 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Rev. Doyle Henderson and Carey Deckard officiating. Interment will follow at Sadler Cemetery, Sadler, Texas. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Dutton passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2010 at his home in Whitesboro surrounded by his family.

Ted was born on July 5, 1932 in Spur, Texas to Henry E. and Serena (Boaz) Dutton. He graduated from Whitesboro High School in 1951 where he was an outstanding athlete in football, baseball and basketball. Ted attended East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas where he played football and also attended Austin College where he played basketball. He worked for Commercial Metals from 1952 until retirement in 1996, after 40 plus years of service, holding managerial positions in Ft. Worth, Texas, Jacksonville, Florida and Lubbock, Texas. After retiring, he started farming and ranching and enjoyed raising cattle. Ted was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Sadler, Texas. He was very involved in community services in the Sadler community, serving on various boards and organizations such as the Sadler Community Center, Sadler Volunteer Fire Department and the Sadler Cemetery. Family and church were his life and he loved to travel.

Ted married Gladys Fowler on July 14, 1951 with that Union of 51 years they were blessed with three daughters. Gladys preceded him in death on June 28, 2002. Ted then married Robbie Simpson Brown on December 26, 2004 in Whitesboro, Texas.

Survivors include his wife, Robbie Dutton of Whitesboro; three daughters, Cathy Woods and husband, Jerry of Sadler, Texas, Brenda Carol Hoffman of Sadler, Texas and Sylvia Annette Watson and husband, Steve of Goldthwaite, Texas; a step-daughter, Lynne Shadden and husband, Brian of Whitesboro; a step-son, Mark Brown of Sherman; a sister, Geneva Kennedy of Rockdale, Texas, 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and a host of friends that loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Serena Dutton; 2 sisters, Henrietta Elliott and Sue Marbury, and a brother, Rex Dutton.

Pallbearers are: Dean Bullard, Jerry Woods, Brian Shadden, Steve Watson, Mark Brown and James Hightower.

Honorary Pallbearers are: Edward Blakely and Boyd Connaway.
