Shirley Ann Swindle, 86, of Collinsville, Texas was called home to her Lord and Savior on Monday, July 31, 2023.
Shirley was born on March 11, 1937 in Hurley, New Mexico to Marvin and Opal (Sears) Lowe. She graduated from Ysleta High School in El Paso, TX. where she sang in the high school choir. Shirley married Don Swindle on June 30, 1957 in El Paso, Texas. She was an active member of the Collinsville Church of Christ and the Ladies Bible Class at her church. Shirley participated in the New Horizon Club in Collinsville, the League of Women Voters in Gainesville, TX., and she volunteered at the library in Collinsville. She loved antique cars and airplanes and enjoyed traveling to fly-ins all over the US.
She is survived by her husband, Don Swindle of Collinsville; daughter, Donna Lee and husband, David of Dallas; son, Jim Swindle and life partner, Inkee Kim of Bulverde; dear friends, Fernando and Daniela Ferracini and their children, Olivia and Carolina, as well as many other loving family and friends.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Opal Lowe, and her sister, Betty Scoby.
Funeral services honoring Shirley will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro, officiated by Ricky Patterson. A private family interment will be held at 8:30 AM at Collinsville cemetery. There will be a time of visitation for family and friends on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Funeral home.
