May 5, 1949 –  December 7, 2015  Gainesville resident, San Juanita Mendez 66, passed away Monday, December 7, 2015 at River Valley Health and Rehab Center. Juanita was born in San Benita, Texas May 5, 1949 to Agustin and Evanjelina (Rivera) Gonzalez. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
A Memorial Service will be at held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, December 10th at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Gainesville with Deacon Gelasio Garcia officiating.

Survivors include her husband, Raul Mendez of Gainesville; daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Elton Hughes of Lindsay, Jo Ann Mendez of Gainesville, Natalie and James Smith of Gainesville, Mary Ann and Eric Anderson of Valley View and Maria and Roberto Nava of Gainesville; sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Jennifer Mendez of Gainesville and Raul, Jr. and Mary Mendez of Holliday; brothers, Juan Pablo Gonzalez and Agustin Gonzalez, Jr.; grandchildren, Preston Mendez, Steve Diego Mendez, Ethan Anderson, Stephanie Mendez, Ivan Mendez, Savanna Mendez, Roberto Nava, Zoey Smith, Maximus Smith, Emma Anderson, Antonio Nava and Nicholas Smith and great-grandchild, Elijah Sumpter.
