Ronald D. Chambers, 76, of Gordonville, Texas was called to his eternal home on Wednesday, January 20, 2021.
Ronnie was born on May 5, 1944 in Sherman, Texas to Walter and Iona (Riddle) Chambers. He married Linda Bridges on January 25, 1962 in Waurika, Ok and they were married for 47 years until her passing in 2009. He worked for Bell Helicopter for 40 years prior to his retirement. Ronnie was a member of Gordonville Masonic Lodge #536 for the last 41 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, flying his plane and his chickens. He loved his family very much and loved spending time with them, especially the grandchildren and the great-grandchildren.
Ronnie is survived by his sons, Ronald Lee Chambers and wife, Pam of Gordonville; Doug Chambers of Pilot Point; Grady Chambers and wife, Kimberly of Justin; daughter, Sherri Bennett and husband, Gary of Dorchester; grandchildren, Laura Ballard, Matt Chambers, Monty Chambers, Justin Chambers, Garry Chambers, Gretchen Counts, Katie Rodgers, Ethan Bennett, six great-grandchildren and a new one due soon.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Linda Chambers, his parents, Walter and Iona Chambers, brother, J.R. Chambers, twin brother, Donnie Chambers and sisters, Peggy Worrell and Jean Carney.
In accordance with the CDC guidelines, social distancing and masks will be required. Please no hugs or handshakes during this time.
Graveside services honoring Ronnie will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Gordonville Cemetery in Gordonville, TX, officiated by Rev. Kenny Guthrie. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, January 25, 2021 at Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro.

Ronnie was such a warm and fun cousin. He always welcomed us on our visits to Texas. Ronnie told the best stories making us laugh till our sides ached. He will be missed greatly and we are so thankful for the sweet memories. Our sympathy and love is sent to his whole family along with our prayers for each of you as you adjust to life without this amazing man.

So sad to hear about your Dad. I always was glad to talk to him. He took me up in an a homemade airplane one time from Gainesville to Arlington and I have never been the same since that crazy flight !!!!
Ronny was a fine man and a great friend to me since we met in 2004. He is greatly missed!

So sorry for the loss of Ronnie. Couldn’t believe it when we saw it on face book. We always see him with his grands and greats grands playing in his yard. This pandemic is taking so many good people from this world. We will miss seeing him playing outside with his grands and greats, but him and Linda can once again be together.
