March 15, 1959 –  March 14, 2018  Gainesville – Graveside services for Rodney Allen Hill, 58, will be at 2:00 p.m., on Monday, March 19, 2018, at Callisburg Cemetery, with Rev. Rick Isham, officiating. Services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home, Gainesville, Texas.
Rodney passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, Denton, Texas.

Rodney Allen Hill was born March 15, 1959. He was a man that would have been at home in the wild, wild, west. He was actually a misfit in these times. He loved both of his grandfathers and patterned his life after them.

He was a welder, but worked most of his life working the oilfield, both locally and overseas. He could name most of the locations where he had “punched holes”. He was a natural at it. He loved the people who worked with and for him.

Rodney Allen Hill passed at 58, born on the Ides of March, in Fallon, Nevada, to Curtis and Patsy Hill.

He is survived by his father, Curtis Hill of Gainesville, a brother, Terry S. Hill and wife, Margie Hill of Frisco, his fiancée, Cindy Woods of Gainesville, daughter, Stacy Chapman and husband, Jarrad Chapman, sons, Joey Don of Joshua, Texas, Derrick J. Hill and Chad Hill of Gainesville and of course his favorite Uncle, Joe Kenneth Hill of Henrietta, Texas, Grandsons, Christopher, Donny, Jayden, Shayden and granddaughter, Summer of Joshua, Texas, Several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, too many to name here, that were all loved by him.

Rodney was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Patsy Trammell Hill and grandparents, Kenneth and Esther Hill and Albert and Katherine Trammell
