Robert Lee Hagle, 93, peacefully passed this life on April 9, 2024 under the wonderful care of Trinity Woods and Seasons Hospice in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Bob was born in Maud, Oklahoma on March 26, 1931 to Lawrence O. and Vera Beatrice Hagle.  He was preceded in death by his parents who resided in Gainesville, Texas and younger sister, Betty (Hagle) White, brother-in-law Chris White, both of Tulsa.  Bob is survived by his 3 nieces, Beki Vale of Phoenix, Arizona, Rhonda (Jeff) Wright of Gladewater, Texas, Penny Jervis of Tulsa, Oklahoma and 1 nephew, Rick (Lori) White of Grove, Oklahoma.  He was also very special to 6 Great Nieces/Nephews and one Great-Great Nephew.

“Uncle Bob” graduated from High School in Gainesville, TX in 1949.  He started to work for Sinclair Oil and Gas in the warehouse in Gainesville.  He enlisted in the Army in June 1953.  Uncle Bob proudly served in the Korean War, stationed along the front line in Korea.  He was Honorably Discharged in May 1955 and immediately pursued his college degree.  In 1957 he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Banking from North Texas State College (now University of North Texas).  Following graduation, he returned to work for Sinclair in Gainesville.

Uncle Bob worked for Sinclair/Arco Oil and Gas in Accounting for his entire career with assignments in Gainesville, Tulsa and Dallas, retiring in 1985.  It was in 1982 that Bob’s life changed forever.  He signed up to Volunteer through Arco’s Volunteer Program.  He volunteered at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas in the Emergency Department for the next 39 years doing whatever was asked of him.  He received the Volunteer of the Year Award and the THR Helping Hand Award in 1999.  COVID forced him to retire from volunteering at the age of 89, after giving 18,982 hours of his time serving the hospital community.

Bob was a devoted son and brother.  He took his parents on many camping trips with his travel trailer meeting extended family for reunions and arts and crafts shows.  He routinely made the drive from Dallas to Gainesville to spend time with his mother and father.  He also had many interesting hobbies.  He was a Private Pilot, watch maker, locksmith and loved woodworking.

Uncle Bob lived his life giving his time and serving others.  In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas THD 365 Fund or THD Volunteer Services 380 Fund.

The family would like to invite you to the Visitation starting at 1:00 pm at Meador Funeral Homes in Gainesville, Texas on Saturday, May 4th with the Memorial Service commencing at 2:00 pm, also at Meador.  Graveside services will immediately follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Gainesville.
