January 9, 1925 – December 23, 2015 Graveside Services for Recie L. Jackson, 90, of Denison will be held Tuesday, December 29, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro, Texas with Rev. Sam Tullock officiating. She died Wednesday, December 23, 2015, at Savoy with her husband by her side. She was born January 9, 1925, to Harvey Fox and Mary (Thompson) Fox in Collinsville, Texas. She married Roy Jackson in 1963, in Amarillo, Texas. She is survived by her husband, Roy Jackson of Denison; son, Earnest Jackson of Melissa, Texas; 2 grandchildren, Jason Jackson and Shelly Jenison of Denison, and 1 brother, Elwood Fox of Gordonville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Mary Fox, brothers, Cecil, David and Billy Fox and sister, Myrtle Lee.

Mom was a saint. She took care of me through the death of my father Ernest Elton Jay when I was one year old. Married Roy Melvin Jackson who was a good provider. When ever we went somewhere, I would always go with mom. She brought me to church and saw that I excepted Jesus and was baptized. I’ll never forget her telling me how she picked cotton with her sister Myrtle and her brothers Cecil, Billy, David and Elwood. She sang and played guitar in church with David. Wish I could have heard that. She had a tough life although she always seemed happy. She made me happy and I still love her and miss my mom. Ernie
