June 6, 1932 –  October 26, 2013  RALPH BURTONWHITESBORO ? Ralph Burton was born to Gladys and Mike Burton on June 6, 1932. He passed away at home in Whitesboro, Texas on October 26, 2013. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
He grew up in Denison, Texas. Immediately after high school graduation, he worked at Citizens National Bank in Denison. This launched his 53 year career in banking, during which he served as a bank president in Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma. In addition, Ralph had worked for the Treasury Department as a bank examiner for two years. He was a veteran who served his country for 2 years during the Korean War. He was a graduate of Southern Methodist University Graduate School of Banking. He was beloved by customers, family, and friends.
During his lifetime, he was very active in his church. Most recently he served as an elder in the Collinsville Church of Christ. Throughout the years, he served in various civic organizations.
He is survived by his wife, Mavis Denton Burton; son, Dr. Barry Burton and wife, Marti; daughter, Beverly Haber; grandchildren: Kelsea Burton Briggs, Alex Haber, April Haber, and Walanna Haber; two great-grandchildren; brother, Bob Burton and wife, Mae; sister, Mary Philpott and husband, W. D.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mike and Gladys Burton; and his brother, Mike Burton, Jr.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
