September 24, 1914 –  August 5, 2011  Paul C. Clayton long time Gainesville resident died Friday night in the Christian Care Center in Mesquite at the age of 96.
Paul was born on September 25, 1914 to the late Charlie Green and Eunice (Ward) Clayton at Valley View. He was in the United States Army Air Corp and married Bennie Nichols on December 21, 1935 here in Gainesville. He was a member of the Hillcrest Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife of 75 years, Bennie Nichols Clayton; one son, Don Clayton of Houston; one daughter, Carolyn Hughes of Royce City; one brother, Charlie Clayton of Longview; six grandchildren, Travis Ray, Donald Kirk, Daniel Hughes, Lacey Clayton, Ben Clayton, Kelly Clayton; and numerous great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, August 8, 2011, at Clement Keel Funeral Home Chapel with his son, Don Clayton officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4-6 Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.
