September 26, 1929 – January 30, 2018 Whitesboro – Funeral Services for Melba Anita Ramsey, 88, will be held Friday, February 2, 2018 at 10:00 am at Meador Funeral Home Chapel, Whitesboro, Texas, officiated by Rev. Mike Flanagan. The family will receive friends and family from 6:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at the funeral home. Interment will be at Morrow Cemetery outside of Muenster, Texas. All services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro.Melba passed away on January 30, 2018 at The Renaissance in Gainesville, Texas with her family by her side.
Melba was born on September 26, 1929 to Bill and Nona (Akers) Duncan. She married Melton Ramsey on March 16, 1947 in Saint Jo, Texas and was married to him for 63 years until his death on May 14, 2010. They moved to Whitesboro in 1963. Melba was a member of the First Baptist Church in Whitesboro. She was an avid enthusiast of all sports. Melba loved the distinction of being an identical twin to sister Nelda.
She is survived by her son, Redgy Ramsey and wife, Wynell of Whitesboro, son, Ricky Ramsey of Sherman, sister, Lorene Burden and husband, Bob of Lawton, Ok, 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Aaron Heffley, Jeff Morris, Bryan Newman, Mickie Lester, Randy Kennedy, and Harold Tamplen.
Melba was preceded in death by her husband, Melton Ramsey, son, Robby Wayne Ramsey, her parents, Bill and Nona Duncan, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
