Mary M. Otto, 85, passed away July 15, 2016 at Renaissance Care Center in Gainesville. She was born to John and Rosa (McKinney) Rupe on July 6, 1931 in Sophia, West Virginia. She married Thomas Otto, September 15, 1951. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and known to all as Nanny. Mary started working at Wal-Mart from the time it opened for many years until she retired.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 18th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Gainesville, with Pastor John Pacheco officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Pall Bearers are Russell Otto, Spencer Lehnertz, Bradley Strickland, Preston Lehnertz, Chase Otto and Kobe Nicholson. A Rosary will be held at Meador Funeral Home Chapel Sunday, July 17th at 6 p.m.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Greg & Susie Otto of Lake Kiowa and Gary & Kim Otto of Lindsay; daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra & Jimmy Lehnertz of Gainesville and Carol & Tony Strickland of Callisburg; brothers, Larry Rupe of Beckley, West Virginia and Jack Rupe of Atlanta, Georgia; brothers, Ronald Rupe of Wisconsin; sister Reba Buckley of Florida; 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 2001, infant brother Charles, brothers, Marvin Rupe and Robert Rupe, 3 grandsons, Jeffrey Strickland, Aaron Strickland and Zackary Otto.
