Mary Lynn McCain, 78, of Whitesboro, Texas passed away at Texoma Medical Center on Tuesday, June 15, 2021.  The family wishes to extend their heart-felt gratitude to Heart-to-Heart Hospice of North Texas for their support in her final days.

She was born on February 24, 1943 in Denton County, Texas to the late Albert M. “Smokey” and Delores “Mugs” Forester.  Mary married Fred H. McCain on July 8, 1961 and their union lasted 48 years until his death in October 2009.  They were blessed with two children and were the loves of each other’s lives.  Mary lived a long and happy life and will be forever missed by her family and friends.

WHEN I’M Gone

“When I’m gone, release me. Let me go.  I have so many things to see and do. You mustn’t tie yourself to me with tears.  Be happy that we had so many beautiful years.  I gave to you, my love.  You can only guess how much you gave to me in happiness.  I thank you for the love you each have shown, but now it’s time I traveled on alone.  So grieve a while for me, if grieve you must.  Then let your grief be comforted by trust.  It’s only for a while that we must part, so bless the memories within your heart.  I won’t be far away, for life goes on.  So if you need me, call and I will come.  Though you can’t see or touch me, I’ll be near.  And if you listen with your heart, you’ll hear all my love around you soft and clear.  And then, when you must come this way alone, I’ll greet you with a smile and say welcome home…”    -Author Unknown

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred H. McCain, her daughter, Toni Denise McCain, and her sister, Barbara Ann Carter.

Left to cherish Mary’s memory is her daughter, Rena McCain McAdams of Whitesboro, Texas; her brother, Dennis Mitchell Forester of Ferris, Texas; her two grandchildren, Trevor McAdams of Branson, Missouri and Tayler McAdams of Berryville, Arkansas; and her one great-grandchild, Carsyn McAdams of Berryville, Arkansas.
