Martha Hickman Lupher passed away March 17, 2021 in Fort Worth, Texas after a lengthy battle against cancer.
She was born June 22, 1933 in Sherman, Texas to her parents, Rufus Leon and Frances Hickman. Martha graduated as Salutatorian from Whitesboro High School. She then attended Cooke County Junior College and later married the love of her life, Jerry Lee Lupher on July 15, 1954 in Whitesboro, Texas. Martha was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Garland. She loved the Lord and her family. She loved her church friends and spending time with them. Martha loved her children, grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She enjoyed reading her Bible and reading in general.
Survivors include her children, Janet Moore and husband, David of Palm City, Florida; Gary Lupher and wife Linda of Benbrook, Texas; Karen Tarver and husband, John of Richmond, Texas; four grandchildren, Stacey, Erin, Lyndsey and Blake, eight great-grandchildren, Liam, Sydney, Laine, Hill, Caolan, Bradan, Edyn and Reagan; a sister, Mary Hawkins of Midlothian, Texas; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Lupher, parents, Rufus Leon and Frances Hickman, brother, Dan Hickman, and granddaughter, Lauren Lupher.
Graveside services honoring Martha will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro, officiated by Dr. Dan Anderson-Little. No formal visitation is scheduled. Services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro.
