August 18, 1927 –  September 13, 2017  SADLER-Funeral services for Marshall Edward Blakley, 90, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro, Texas with Rev. Doyle Henderson and Rev. Steve Harrell officiating. Interment will follow at Sadler Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday, September 15, 2017 at the funeral home. Edward was called to his Heavenly home on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center in Sherman, surrounded by his family.
Edward was born on August 18, 1927 to Marshall Elbert and Lela Belle (Siebman) Blakley in Hagerman, Texas. He served in the United States Navy from 1945-1946. Edward married Louella Rodgers on December 24, 1946 in Sadler, Texas. He was a member and served as a deacon of the First United Methodist Church of Sadler. Edward worked for United States Department of Agriculture Soil Conservation for 25 years. He enjoyed riding his tractor, running cattle and working. Edward loved his wife of 70 years and his family greatly.
Survivors include his wife, Louella of Sadler; three sons, Dave Blakley of Amarillo, James Blakley and wife, Cindy of Sadler and Michael Blakley and wife, Lisa of Sadler; a sister, Bettie Wilson; grandchildren, Michele, Mandy, Tommy, Justin, Elvis and Rachel; great-grandchildren, Blakley, Tommy, Shelby, Coleby, Johnathan, Tyler, Michael and Tyler; numerous nieces and nephews.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert and Lela Belle Blakley and a sister, Jane Bradshaw.
Pallbearers will be; Jim Rodger, Dwight Booth, James Hightower, Craig Sellers, Mark McClane and Gene Deckard. http://videos.lifetributes.com/832781
