November 26, 1929 –  February 29, 2012  Gainesville resident Marcelyne Chastain, 82, passed away Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at Denton Regional Hospital. She was born in Denton, Texas November 26, 1929 to Allen and Ruth (Mullen) Arthur. Marcelyne and Earl Chastain were married May 22, 1965 in Farmers Branch. Mrs. Chastain had owned and operated a plumbing service, been employed in retail clothing sales and worked with home health care before retiring. She was of the Methodist faith and was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Graveside services for Marcelyne Chastain will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 3rd, at High Point Cemetery, with Rev. Gary Casey officiating. No visitation is planned. Services are under the direction of Clement-Keel Funeral Home.

Survivors of Mrs. Chastain include daughters, Mickie Ruth Casey of North Richland Hills, Lessye Diane Bryan of Dallas, Evelyn Suzette Kilpatrick of Bedford and Marcelyne Apple of Moss Lake; son, Aubrey Dean Apple of Springfield, Missouri; step-daughter, Mary Danielle Chastain of California; step-son: Daniel Carlton Chastain of Tyler; twelve grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister, Billie Ruth Findley; brother, Levy Dean Arthur and step-son, Mike Chastain.
