February 6, 1922 –  May 25, 2013  Loving Mother, Grandmother, Great and Great-Great-Grandmother, Lucille Mildred Parkhill, 91, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Pecan Tree Health and Rehab Center. Lucille was born February 6, 1922 in Burns City, Texas to John A. and Ora M. Smith. She was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church (Clement Street Missionary Baptist). Mrs. Parkhill had worked as a machine operator for Weber Aircraft. She was an excellent seamstress and loved gardening and taking care of her roses and flowers.

Graveside services for Lucille Parkhill will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 29th at the pavilion in Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Hollis Parsons, pastor of Tabernacle Baptist Church officiating. Visitation will be 7-8 p.m. Tuesday evening at Meador-Clement-Keel Funeral Home. Mrs. Parkhill’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Survivors of Lucille Mildred Parkhill include son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Lela Ward of Gainesville; son, Jimmy Ward of Gainesville; seven step-children; sons-in-law, Eddie Truitt and David Shaw; twenty-four grandchildren and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Albert Ward and Albert Parkhill; parents, John and Ora Smith; daughters, Dora Truitt and Wanda S. Shaw and four brothers.
