Lena Sue Allison, 70 of Gainesville, Texas passed away on July 30, 2023, in Denton, Texas. She was born on August 5, 1952, in Totz, Kentucky to Pearl Cornett and Arizona Hensley. Lena married Philip Ray Allison on March 20, 1970, in Gainesville, Texas. She worked as Material Management at North Texas Medical Center in Gainesville, Texas. She enjoyed going to the casino and out to eat with her friends and family. Lena was a strong, tough person and had endured a lot in her life.  She loved her family and grandkids and was called “mom” to a lot of her children’s friends.

Lena is survived by her daughter, Bridgette Sluder and husband, Eddie of Gainesville, Texas; son, Kelly Allison and wife, Christie of Gainesville, Texas; grandchildren, Tristen Allison, Raegan Allison, Thomas Sluder, Sarah Sluder and Brianna Proctor; great-grandchild, P. D  Reed; brother, Sonny Cornett; sister, Margaret Gilbreath; brothers-in-law, Michael Allison and wife, Patti, Jerry Allison and wife, Stephanie.

She was preceded in death by husband, Philip Allison and parents, Pearl and Arizona Cornett.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2023, at10:00 am at Meador Funeral Home Chapel, 1204 E. California Street, Gainesville, Texas, officiated by Bro. Randy Taylor. Interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Gainesville, Texas.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, from 6:00-8:00 pm at Meador Funeral Home Chapel
