Graveside services for Julia Rae Blake, 84, of Houston, Texas will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 12, 2018 at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro, Texas, officiated by Rev. Rick Carney.  A time of visitation will be held for friends and family on Saturday, January 12, 2018 at Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM.

Julia passed on into her eternal life on Sunday, January 6, 2019 in Huntsville, Texas.

She was born on June 10, 1934 in Dexter, Texas to Everette Leo (Bill) and Bonnie Gene (Smallwood) Hall.  She married Edsil Eugene Blake and together they began a love story that included raising their five children.  Julia enjoyed gardening, interior designing, genealogy and her cat Dexter, but she truly loved and adored her children and grandchildren.

Julia is survived by her son Robert Eugene Blake and spouse, Jack Wade Cox of Eugene, OR., son, James Thomas Blake and wife, Julia of Macon, GA., daughter, Barbara Jane Kent and husband, Larry of Huntsville, TX., son Roger Dale Blake and wife, Laura of Houston, TX., grandchildren, Joshua Matthew Blake, Dillon Jacob Cox, Frankie  Bellaflores, Christina Bellaflores, James Thomas Blake II, Karolyn Denise Kent, Blake Everette Kent, and Julia Almeida, great-grandchildren, Tyler, Tyrone, Tyra and Tyleigh.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Bonnie Hall, husband, Gene Blake and son, Edsil Ray Blake.
