Joseph Philip Howard, 65 of Valley View, Texas passed away on January 20, 2024.  He was born on December 16, 1958, in Brownwood, Texas to Joseph Franklin Howard and Juadeen Harper.  Phil married Sharon Bond in Burnett, Texas on July 21, 2014.  He was a member of Denton Bible Church and graduated from Tarleton University in 2001 with a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science.  Phil was employed as an Agriculture teacher at Valley View ISD for over 22 years.  He loved to ride bikes, hunting, woodworking, kayaking and the outdoors.  Phil had a big love for animals and spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Phil is survived by his wife, Sharon Howard of Valley View, Texas; son, Jake Howard & wife, Rose; daughter, Joni Day & husband, Caleb; step children, Nathanael & Rachel Bond; daughter, Laylah Howard; grandchildren, Elijah Bond, Andrew Howard, Nathan Howard, Landon Howard, Braxton Day and Briggs Day; parents, Joe & Juadeen Howard; siblings, Frank Howard, Chris & Gale Howard, Beth & Richie Gamel, numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by grandparents, Harvey & Sally Howard, Orbin & Stella Harper.

Memorial Service will be held Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Valley View High School Gymnasium at 1:30 pm. A remembrance visitation will be held Wednesday, January 24, 2024 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Meador Funeral Home, 1204 E. California Street, Gainesville, Texas.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home of Gainesville.
