January 12, 1937 –  March 9, 2018  Whitesboro – Funeral services for John Moore Oliver, 81, of Whitesboro will be held at Meador Funeral Home, Whitesboro, on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Jerry Scott and Rev. Mike Flanagan officiating. Interment will follow at Sadler Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. All services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home.He passed away March 9, 2018 at Texoma Medical Center with his family by his side.
John was born in Asherton, Texas on January 12, 1937 to Colon McRae and Leona Theresa (Uppencamp) Oliver. He graduated from High School and then was drafted in to the Army in 1956. He married Judith Louise Parshall in Houston, Tx on November 6, 1959. John owned and operated his own business as an aerial applicator in the Rio Grande Valley and in Uvalde, Texas for over 30 years. He and Judy moved to Whitesboro in 1998 where they joined the First Baptist Church together. John enjoyed hooking up the 5th wheel trailer and traveling around the U.S., going to Alaska to see Danny and camping at Thousand Trails, where he was a member. He loved his family and his grandchildren, he traveled many miles going to their games and helping them with projects and their soap box derby races. He enjoyed jumping on his motorcycle and traveling about with his brother-in-law Harry. He was an avid square dancer with the Honey Bee club in Uvalde as well as the club in Ruidoso, New Mexico.
He is survived by his daughter, Margaret Kirkpatrick and husband, Alan of Kyle, son, Daniel Oliver and wife, Dana of Wasilla, AK, daughter, Robin Nehib and husband, Paul of Whitesboro, sister, Rubye Gaston of Caldwell, nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be John Simon, Stephen Simon, Paul Nehib, Alan Kirkpatrick, Joe Williams and Preston Lindsey.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Judy and his parents, Colon and Leona Oliver. http://videos.lifetributes.com/878010
