John Curtis Stephens, 82, of Whitesboro, Texas was called to his eternal home on Friday, September 3, 2021.
John was born on August 19, 1939 in Redding, California to Joe Curtis and Annie Belle (Belcher) Stephens. John was an accomplished pilot and he loved sailing, riding motorcycles, fishing, and camping. He was a retired heavy equipment operator. John enjoyed family time and loved getting together and spending time with the kids and all his grandchildren.
He is survived by his son, Randy Stephens and wife, Pam of Era; daughter, Kelley Stephens of Whitesboro; daughter, Carolyn Helms of Pilot Point; sister, Imogene Shelton of Pilot Point; sister, Jo Ann Stevens of Sanger; brother, Charles Ray Stephens of Krum; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, stepsons, Mark Wright, Mike Wright, and Daren Wright.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Annie Belle Stephens, daughter, Shelley Kae Stephens, wife, Jeanne Stephens, sister, Brenda Joyce Stephens and stepdaughter, Kim Hilliard.
Funeral services honoring John will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro, officiated by Steve Hooper. Interment will follow at Sanger Cemetery in Sanger, Texas. A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
