April 20, 1930 – May 21, 2012 WHITESBORO â?? Graveside services for Frances â??Jeanneâ? Arnold, 82, will be held on Friday, May 25, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at the Hawley Cemetery in Nash, Oklahoma Rev. Rick Carney officiating. All service arrangements are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro, Texas. Family visitation will be Thursday, May 24, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.She passed away on May 21, 2012 in Denison, Texas.
Jeanne was born on April 20, 1930 to Lewis Burton and Mary Arlena (Harrison) Smith in Wewoka, Oklahoma. She married Gene Lee Arnold on September 6, 1958 in Ft. Worth, Texas. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Eastern Star of Louisiana. She worked for Knightâ??s Furniture of Sherman, Texas, for 20 years as a bookkeeping specialist. She enjoyed watching football and working crossword puzzles. She loved to dance and in her younger years raced Harley Davidson motorcycles.
She is survived by her children: Alec Emerson and fiancé, Claire Dion, of Seattle, WA; Brenda Rowan and husband, Terry, of College Station, TX; Dorinda Handley and husband, Steve, of Sherman, TX; Lyn Arnold and wife, Kim, of Whitesboro, TX; Tammy Wallace and husband, Marshall, of Whitesboro, TX; Melissa Abernathy and fiancé, Tori Faulkner, of Whitesboro, TX; Kenda Sinclair and husband, Eddie, of Collinsville, TX; 22 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis Smith and Mary Arlene Greathouse; husband, Gene Lee Arnold; son, David Emerson; and two sisters: Ruth Campbell and Elizabeth Lundstrom.
Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons: Matt Handley, Dustin Handley, Austin Arnold, Trel Jones, Trent Mayo, PFC Jesse Abernathy, Trase Abernathy, Coy Greer, and Caden Sinclair.
