James Wesley Brown, 93, of Sherman, Texas was called to his eternal home on Friday, June 16, 2023.

Wes was born on March 21, 1930 in Shamrock, Texas to Fred and Ruby (Medford) Brown.  He served proudly in the United States Army serving in the Korean War. Wes married Shirley Bowles on July 31, 1950 in the Panhandle of Texas.  He was an avid fisherman.

He is survived by his son, Jim Brown and wife, Deb Goudy of Gordonville; daughter, Debbie Thetford and hsuband, Cris of Durant; son, Fred Brown and wife, Crystal of Fulshear; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Kimzey and Helen Miles.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Ruby Brown; wife, Shirley Brown; and siblings, Harold and Sharon.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro.  The family will hold a Celebration of Life service at a later date.
