James “Jim” Weston Selder, age 84, passed away at Gainesville Convalescent Center, surrounded by his family on Friday, April 20, 2018. James was born on December 14, 1933 in Paducah, Texas to the late George “Albert” and Ruby Selder. He was the second oldest of five children, one preceded him in death. James served in the Army from October 28, 1953 to August 4, 1955. He married the love of his life, Dorothy Jo Wilkins, December 16, 1955. Together, they had two sons Kenneth Wayne Selder and Barry Don Selder. James and Dorothy enjoyed traveling, as well as spending time with family and friends. James was the proud owner of Selder’s Radiator Shop, of which he bought from the founder, his father George “Albert” Selder. Selder’s Radiator Shop was in business for 40 plus years. James special interest and hobbies included raising a family, fishing, carpentry, electrical workand mechanic work. He is survived by his beloved wife Dorothy Selder of 62 years; Sons, Wayne and Dorothy Selder of Gainesville, Barry and Tanya Selder of Forestburg; Brother, Joe and Peggy Selder of Wichita Falls; Sisters, Nell and Joe Ware of Walnut Bend, Gayle and Maxey Conaway of Forestburg; 6 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He is preceded by his parents George “Albert” and Ruby Selder and sister Patsy Kirchenbauer. Visitation will be 6pm-8pm Monday, April 23, 2018. Funeral Services will be held 2pm on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Meador Funeral Home in Gainesville, Texas with Dennis King, officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements are by Meador Funeral Home.
