James Dennis Pellet. “Pa” ” Brother Dennis” went to be with his precious Lord on Sunday, November 1, 2020. He was born to Theodore and Evelyn Gotcher Pellet on October 11, 1946 in Pilot Point , Texas. Dennis grew up in Lake Dallas, Texas, and eventually attended Lewisville High School where he met the love of his life, Barbara Lovette Pellet. They both graduated from Lewisville High School in 1964. They were married on October, 29, 1966 ai Liberty Baptist Church in Lewisville.
In 1968, Dennis was drafted into the US Army and became a Spec 5. He served a two year term in Schweinfurt, Germany and was trained in Army Tank combat. After being honorably discharged , he returned to Lewisville where he became a lineman for Denton County Cooperative.
In 1974, Dennis surrendered his life to the ministry, and enrolled in Arlington Baptist Seminary. After receiving his degree in Divinity, he became Youth Minister at Calvary Baptist Church in Lewisville, and later pastored First Baptist Church, Era Texas, Rosston Baptist in Rosston , Texas, First Baptist Church in Lake Dallas, Texas, and First Baptist Church Sunset Texas.
Dennis also worked in the Lake Dallas Independent School District in the a maintenance Department, and was Director of Operations for Era ISD before retiring in 2019.
Dennis is survived by his wife Barbara of 54 years, son Jeff and wife Farah of Arlington, son Corey and his wife Renee of Roanoke,and six beautiful grandchildren, Maddie Pellet, Emma Pellet, Erin Pellet, Cameron Pellet, Quinn Stucker , Ava Stucker and a special niece and nephew, Amy and Keith Alexander.
