Ike was born on July 16th, 1955 to Ike Joe Haverland Sr. and Patsy McAdams Haverland in Lubbock, TX. He loved playing in his band “West Texas Hwy” as the drummer when he was younger. Ike was an avid sports fan and he loved drag racing. He was a wonderful dad and loved his grandchildren very much.
He is survived by his son Chad and Megan Haverland of Georgetown, TX, son Justin Haverland of Denton, TX; one granddaughter Annika Haverland; one grandson Henry Haverland; his dog Buster Haverland; mother of his sons Robie Haverland of Corinth, TX. He considered Lake Kiowa area his extended family.
I played in the band with Ike. He was so much fun to be around. Full of laughter and joy. We had so many laughs together. I have many stories from the band days I could tell but I won’t, they were all clean and harmless, as so was Ike. Randall Park in Umbarger, brings back special memories with Ike as this was one of many places we played. He sang “Long Tall Texan”. One of the few songs he sung. I wish that we could have stayed in contact. I am saddened and I will miss him. I think of him often as I browse old memories. My sincere condolences to his family. God Bless. May Ike have eternal rest.
Loved getting to visit with Ike. He was always happy and such a kind friend. I will miss our Texas Longhorn conversations and of course his smile. So sorry for your loss.
Ike was a great person. he always made sure that you had a smile or if you were doing alright. He was a good person for you to have a friend and I’m sorry to the family for their loss. I will keep you all in my prayers.
Even though I only knew Ike as a “customer”, I consider him a friend. I suspect most of his regular customers felt the same way. His family should know he made a positive impact on many people. RIP, buddy.
I remember Ike from my childhood as Chad and my brother Trent were and are close friends since about age 3 or 4. Ike and Robbie were always kind to me. I remember Ike coaching a soccer game or two for the team Trent and Chad were on, as I cheered from the sidelines. I remember Ike’s smile as he was usually smiling in my memory. He will be missed. My heart felt condolences to his family and friends.
So sorry to hear this . Ike was a cool guy, I always liked being around him . Our deepest condolences for the family
