September 12, 1960 – April 9, 2018 Gordonville – Herman Franklin Denney Jr., 57, passed away at his home in Gordonville on April 9, 2018. Cremation arrangements for Mr. Denney are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro. He was born on September 12, 1960 in Kansas City, Missouri to Herman Franklin and Barbara (Lenard) Denney. After graduation from high school he went into the construction business. He married Reba (Brannan) Denney in 1980 in Ottawa, Kansas. Herman was a very loving husband and father to his family. He enjoyed watching KU basketball and the Kansas City Chiefs football. He enjoyed restoring classic cars, gardening and taking care of his animals…he also enjoyed just sitting in his yard and watching nature alone or sharing it with his friends and family. Herman was the family rock and leader always having an answer to all our questions whether silly or serious. He was always there when you needed him any time of the day no matter the size of the problem. He loved helping others and making them happy. He was opinionated and stubborn and loved debating a good topic. He could and would talk to anyone.
He is survived by his wife, Reba of Sherwood Shores, daughter, Krissy Denney of Topeka, Ks, son, James Denney of Sherwood Shores, daughter, Amanda Elder and husband, Matthew of Garnett, KS, stepfather, Gary White of Waverly, KS, brother, Kenneth Walker of Calera, OK, brother, Jeff Denney of California, sister, Kari White of Ottawa, KS and three grandchildren, Dominic, Maliyah, and Brayden.
Herman was proceeded in death by his parents, Herman Denney and Barbara White and brother, Joe Denney.
