October 16, 1937 – June 4, 2017 GAINESVILLE – Funeral services for Fay Etter, 79, will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Gainesville with Rev. Jim Everidge officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Gainesville. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Fay passed away on Sunday, June 04, 2017 at Muenster Memorial Hospital.
She was born on October 16, 1937 in Gainesville to John E. Burrow and Mary Eva (Atkinson) Burrow. Fay married Tom Etter on September 5, 1954 in Gainesville. She was an energetic entrepreneur, owning three businesses in her working life: The Lucky Lady Service Station in Gainesville, The Gift Gallery, a gift shop in Gainesville, and a restaurant, The Cozy Corner, in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Fay was of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include her husband, Tom Etter of Gainesville; two sons, Russell Wayne Etter and wife, Dorothy of Gainesville and William Herbert Etter of Gainesville; a daughter, Deanna Leigh Corson and husband, Bret of Wylie; three sisters, Betty Armel, Hazel Caras and Shirley Fullbright; eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters and two brothers.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Etter, Michael Etter, Kenny Blanton, Rusti Blanton, Alex Bednar and Jason Weeks.
