Eva Joyce Simmons, 81, of Whitesboro, Texas was called home to heaven on Monday, October 9, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.
Joyce was born on December 14, 1941 in Gordonville, Texas to Lonnie and Gracie (Baker) Cravens. She was a graduate of Whitesboro High School. She retired from Texas Instruments in Sherman after 40 years of service. Joyce was a member of the D Street Church of Christ in Whitesboro and of the Woodmen Circle. She enjoyed reading, gardening, watching birds and scary movies. Her favorite holiday was Halloween, she loved to decorate and pass out candy to all the neighborhood kids. She was a wonderful lady and had many children that ran in and out of her home and she loved them all just as her own. She loved and cherished her family and enjoyed the time spent with them, especially her grandchildren; they were her pride and joy.
She is survived by her son, Bubba Simmons and wife, Rhonda of Whitesboro; daughter, Vicki Watson and husband, Nathan of Denison; daughter-in-law, Lisa Simmons of Whitesboro; sister, Lonnette Davidson and husband, John of Collinsville; grandchildren, Jamie Simmons- Finch, Colt Simmons, Phoenix Simmons, Loren Kemp, Chelsea Byers, Nathan Watson III, Joshua Watson, Jacob Watson, Ben Watson, Rachel Watson, Kelsey Geisler, Langstyn Watson, and Asher Watson; great-grandchildren, Slade Finch, Arthur Simmons, Furiosa Simmons, Olivia Simmons, Corbin Vernon, Camdyn Vernon, Brayden Byers, Raeghen Byers, Addison Kemp and Epi Kemp, nieces and nephews, Randy Smith and wife, Debbie, Debbie Brule and husband Kevin, Ryan and Zane Ferguson, Kalyn Brule, Britni Smith, and Bryan Smith, as well as other loving family and friends.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Gracie Cravens, son, John Marcus “Mark” Simmons, sister, Alice Smith and brother, Weldon Cravens.
Graveside services honoring Joyce will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Mt. Tabor Cemetery. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, October 13, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro.
You are loved and will be so missed. Rest in Peace and give Aunt Alice and Uncle Bobby big hugs!

I sure loved this sweet sweet lady who I was blessed to call my Aunt Joyce.. I loved visiting her home as a child and as a teenager would get to steal a hug from her at the Dairy Queen where she and her sweet sister Alice would sit and solve the world’s problems. She will be so missed!!!
