Edna May Brown,96, formerly of Gainesville, TX passed away on October 12th, 2023, at the Wesley House in Gilmer, TX. Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 14, 2023, with the funeral service starting at 11:00 AM at the Commerce Street Church of Christ in Gainesville with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery.
Edna was born on January 25, 1927, to Dee and Eula Hanks in Henrietta, TX. Edna married William Thomas “W.T.” Brown on September 27th, 1947, in Graham, TX. She was in nursing working with Home Health Care for many years. Edna was a faithful member of the Commerce Street Church of Christ in Gainesville. She also was the caretaker for days out for the Alzheimer’s patients. Edna loved the Texas Rangers, and she was a wonderful mother and homemaker.
She is survived by her son Jim Brown and wife Sharon of Gilmer, TX; daughter Eula and husband C.T. Turner of Mt. Pleasant; daughter Linda Blasé and husband Ron of Denton; daughter Chloe Cornelious of Denton; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Edna is preceded in death by her husband W.T. Brown and her parents.
Aunt Edna May will be missed. She was quite a lady! I have many fond memories or her. I know her and my grandma had a joyous reunion in Heaven! Praying for the family. We love you all!
My sincerest condolences to you and your family. Edna was my neighbor for several years and I enjoyed visiting with her over the years.
