Debra Smith Pierce was born on May 2, 1954, in Bonham, TX to Leo Charles Smith and Gladys Stewart Smith.  She passed away peacefully at her home on October 30, 2023.   She attended Bonham public schools and graduated High School in 1972.  She studied Nursing at Grayson County College and Cooke County College and worked as an RN nurse in the medical field for many years. Her favorite pastimes were fishing and camping with her family.

Debra was preceded in death by her husband, Otis James Pierce, Jr.; parents, Leo Charles and Gladys Smith; and her sister, Glenda Lowe.  She is survived by her seven children; De Lisa Harper of Sherman, Robert Harper Jr. and his wife Amanda Harper of Whitesboro, Gypsy Harper of Illinois, Tonya Pierce of Muenster, son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Tami Pierce of Myra, Arlus Pierce of Kingston, Oklahoma, Janette Grewing of Muenster; brother Charles Smith and his wife Phyllis Smith of Seguin; and sister, Helen Barrett and her husband Lee Barrett of Lago Vista. She has seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She had three nieces and two nephews. She is also survived by her long-time friend of 56 years, Sandra Beth Stevens.

A Memorial service will be held at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church:  279 Burns City Rd Valley View, Texas 76272 on November 4th, 2023, at 3:00 p.m.

Services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home of Gainesville, Texas.
