Funeral services for Charlene Marie McGinnis, 83, of Sadler will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro, with Rev. Jerry Henry officiating. Interment will follow at Macomb Cemetery. A time of visitation for friends and family will be held at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Monday, February 4, 2019.
She passed away on February 1, 2019 at Homestead of Collinsville.
Charlene was born on May 25, 1935 in Vici, Oklahoma to Glenn Eugene and Beulah Viola (Lawrence) Gregory. She married Wallace Landers in 1953 in Oklahoma and he preceded her in death in 1994. She later married G.W. McGinnis in Sadler, TX on July 6, 1996. She was a member of Sadler Baptist Church. She was a manager for Grandy’s in Sherman for many years. Charlene was a very loving woman, she loved her family very much. She enjoyed nature, camping, and watching the stars. She loved taking care of her children and spent many hours sewing clothes for her boys. She was a fantastic cook and her cinnamon rolls might have been world famous. Charlene loved to paint, loved the family reunions and the get togethers with friends and family. She was an amazing woman.
She is survived by her son, Bobby Landers Sr. and wife, Vickie of Burleson; son, Gene Landers Sr. and wife, Pamela of Whitesboro; son, Ken Landers of Branson, Missouri; grandsons, Gene Landers Jr., Bobby Landers Jr., Beau Landers, Trey Landers, Kade Landers, Jeff Landers, granddaughters, Brandi Landers, Kayla Landers, and Jerri Landers, thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, sister Glendene Landers, sister, Mildred Brown, brother, Robert Gregory and wife, Roberta, sister-in-law, Inez Gregory, brother-in-law, Ray Freeman, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Beulah Gregory, husband, Wallace Landers, husband, G.W. McGinnis, sister, Althea Gregory, sister, Emma Jean Freeman, sister, Uleta Nielsen, sister Uneta Gregory, brother, Carl Gregory, and brother, Clyde Gregory.
