Carole Jeanne Stephens, 80, of Whitesboro, Texas entered into her eternal home on Sunday, February 16, 2020.

Carole was born on March 14, 1939 in Kermit, Texas to Wayne Edward and Carrie B. (Critcher) Stevens.  She married John Stephens on July 16, 1976 in Ardmore, Oklahoma.  An accomplished artist, Carole loved working with oils, water colors and sketching.  She extended her love of art by working as a florist and with her beautiful gardens at her home.  She worked for both Texas Instruments and the Sanger Schools during her life.  She loved spending time outdoors with her husband of 43 years, whether it was sailing, riding motorcycles, flying in their plane or just being on the water, she was a great swimmer.  Carole loved her family and enjoyed the time spent with them.

She is survived by her husband, John Stephens of Whitesboro; son, Mark A. Wright of Washington; son, Michael D. Wright of Washington; son Daren Wright of Denton; daughter Carolyn J. Stephens of Lake Kiowa; step-daughter, Kelley Stephens of Whitesboro; step-son, Randy Stephens of Era; grandchildren, Austin Pulley, Ryan Barker, Lilly Chaney, Anna Hodges, Lee Ann Aflleje, Larry Wright, Megan Gamble, Dustin Hilliard, Rebecca Binyon, Jamie Sleziak, Rachel Twito, Jeremy Stephens, Justin Stephens and many beloved great-grandchildren.

Carole was preceded in death by her daughter, Kim Hilliard and daughter, Shelley Stephens.

Funeral services honoring Carole will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 21,2020 at Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro, officiated by Randy Stephens, Mark Wright, and Steve Hooper.  A time of visitation for friends and family will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at the funeral home.
