Gainesville resident, Betty Carlock, passed away February 20, 2017 at North Texas Medical Center at the age of seventy-four. She was born in Sheldon’s Grove, Illinois on December 11, 1942 to John and Marie (Surratt) Thompson. Betty married Charles Carlock December 26, 1959 in Aurora, Illinois. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Carlock of Gainesville; daughters, Tina McDevitt and husband, Michael of Fort Worth, Karen Moore of North Richland Hills and Jami Hall and husband, Dick Clintsman of Dallas; brothers, Bill Thompson, John Thompson, Jack Thompson, Bobby Thompson, Wayne Thompson, Ed Thompson and Scott Thompson; sisters, Joann Neubauer, Mary Graves, Shirley Steen, Connie Kellenberger, Vickie Bellville and Tammie Waldron; grandchildren, Michael S. McDevitt, Samantha Young, Caitlin McDevitt, Charles W. Carlock, Krista Clifton, Tami Pace, Madeline Moore and Megan Moore and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Marie Thompson; son, Rusty Carlock and daughter, Corrissa Carlock.
