Betty Jean DeWoody, 85, of Whitesboro, Texas was called to her eternal home on Sunday, July 24, 2022.

Betty was born on October 9, 1936 in Searcy, Arkansas to Luke and Estella (Clinton) Collins. She married the love of her life, John Loyd DeWoody on December 18, 1952 in Bakersfield, California, and they were married for 60 years prior to his passing in 2013. Betty enjoyed doing word search puzzles, traveling the United States, baking, and antiquing. She enjoyed listening to John Hagee Ministries and she was of the Pentecostal faith. She loved helping those in need. Her greatest joy was her family.

She is survived by her son, Curtis DeWoody and wife, Marilou of Pasco, Washington; daughter, Pam Thompson of Whitesboro; son, Ricky DeWoody and wife, Cindi of Katy, Texas; grandchildren, Stacy, Nichole, Dennis, Tammy, Jada, Shila, Luke, and Cory, as well as numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, John, parents, Luke and Estella Collins, son-in-law, Robert Thompson and four siblings.

Graveside services honoring Betty will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro, officiated by Rev. Virgil Cornwell. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the
