Betty Jane Hudson, 96 of Gainesville, Texas passed away on March 5, 2023.  She was born on February 27, 1927 in Stinnett, Texas to Carlton Roberds and Inez (Rhodes) Roberds. Betty married Thomas Hudson on May 6, 1967 in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. They were married for nearly fifty years.

Betty spent her career in the health care profession practicing both nursing and massage therapy. Starting life as a city girl, she later developed a passion for the farm & ranch life. She loved riding horses and driving tractors, and even in her retirement, she enjoyed watching cows outside the window of Wesley House. Additionally, gardening, flowers, and bird watching were some of her favorite pastimes. She was of the Methodist faith. After residing in many states across the country, Betty returned to her roots in Texas with her beloved Thomas.

Betty is survived by her husband, Thomas Hudson of Gainesville, Texas; her children Jennene Buckner, Lorraine Hagen, Delsa (Abdel) AlBaroudi, Robert Hudson, and 16 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her children Nancy Wagner, Glenda Glockner, Curtis Hudson and Cliff Hudson; her parents and brother Ronald Shurtz.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home of Gainesville.  At this time no services are scheduled.
