June 1, 1939 –  January 29, 2016  Alvin Ray Alsup passed away Friday evening, January 29, 2016 at Gainesville Health and Rehab Center at the age of seventy-six. He was born in Fort Worth Texas June 1, 1939 to Raymond “Red” and Goldie (Fitts) Alsup. Alvin proudly served in the US Marines from 1956 to 1959 and was a truck driver until retiring. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.Survivors include his wife, Vivian Alsup of Gainesville; daughter, Melani Ellis of Augusta, Georgia; son, Dean Jones of Walnut Bend, daughter, Angela Alsup of Seymour, Texas; son, Jonathan Alsup of Gainesville and son, Anthony Alsup of Gainesville.
