Allie Mae Wright, 92, of Whitesboro, Texas was called to her heavenly home on Monday, February 13, 2023. Graveside service will be on Friday, February 17, 2023, at 1:00 PM at the Nocona Cemetery in Nocona, TX with Rev. Virgil Blaylock officiating.
Mae was born on April 18, 1930, in Nocona, Texas to Leonard and Alpha Curnutte. She married the love of her Alton “AJ” Wright on October 30, 1948. Together they raised one son Wayne. Mae graduated from Enid Beauty College in 1978 where she later became a beauty instructor at the college. She was a very devoted Christian who loved Jesus and loved sharing his word with everyone. She was a longtime member of the Church of God in Whitesboro where she taught Sunday School. Her greatest pride was her son, grandsons, and great-grandchildren. Mae and A.J. for many years would go to the dairy queen and donut shop in Whitesboro to meet with their friends for coffee.
She is survived by her son Wayne Wright and wife Pam of Whitesboro, TX; grandsons Aaron Wright and wife Ashley and Brian Wright; great-grandchildren, Laney Wright and Teddy Wright; sister Shirley Booth of Whitesboro, survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Mae is preceded in death by her husband A.J. Wright; parents Leonard and Alpha Curnutte; siblings Letha, Nell, Bonnie, Ellen, Willie and Raymond.
Graveside services will be held Friday, February 17, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Nocona Cemetery, Nocona, Texas. Rev. Virgil Blaylock will be officiating.
