Roy Charles Idell, Jr., 64 of Gainesville, Texas passed away on February 9, 2022. He was born on February 2, 1958, in Gainesville to Roy Charles Idell, Sr. and Ethel Marie (Walrath) Idell. He married Teresa Clover in Gainesville on September 16, 1977, and were married for 44 years.
Roy was a lifetime resident of Cooke County. He graduated from Callisburg in 1976. He was a wonderful family man who loved his family dearly.
Roy is survived by his wife, Teresa “Terry” Idell of Gainesville, Texas; sons, Roy Charles “Charlie” Idell III and wife, Natasha of Rosehill, Kansas, Jason Stockard and wife, Diana of Gainesville, Texas; sisters, Jan Scivally and husband, Dale of Marietta, Oklahoma, Barbara Krebs and husband, Kenny of Lindsay, Texas; 6 grandchildren, Zane, Breckin, Remington, Everleigh, Nathan and Logan; brothers in law, Robert and wife, Cindy Clover of Whitesboro, Texas, Randy Clover and Lynn of Bowie, Texas and a host of extended family, numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents and in laws.
Visitation will be held at Meador Funeral Home, 1204 E. California Street, Gainesville on Sunday, February 13, 2022, from 2:00-4:00 pm. Funeral service will be on Monday, February 14, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Meador Funeral Home Chapel followed by interment at Callisburg Cemetery.

Roy was a friend and a mentor. He was always there to give me good advice and sometimes a little bad advice just so he could check to see how smart I was. We shared a many nights at polypipe together. Working on something that was broken. When it came to work, I admired his patience. I learnt a lot from him and respected him greatly. I will miss him.

I went to school with Roy,he was one of the humble ones ,,is what I remember of Roy.havent saw him since school.i to lost my husband (soul mate).& I sincerely pray,for comfort,peace& healing .God,s promise to love you& and family at this time of sorrow Mrs Idell.

I met Charlie back in the mid 70s through his sister, Jan. I did not know him well, but I remember him to be a good and decent man. May you rest in peace.
