April 16, 1926 –  November 24, 2008  GORDONVILLE â?? Funeral Services for William Thomas Jaynes, 82, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008 at Faith Baptist Church in Gordonville with Rev. Jim Hardwick officiating. A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. at Big Springs Cemetery in Garland. All services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2008 at the funeral home.
William passed away Monday, November 24, 2008 at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center in Sherman.

He was born April 16, 1926 in Linden, Texas to Thomas Stalcup Jaynes and Mary John (Duncan) Jaynes. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WW II. William married Dorothy Marie Hill on Nov. 18, 1966 in Richardson. He was a master electrician and retired as Director of Maintenance for Daingerfield and Lone Star Schools. He loved to travel and was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Gordonville.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Jaynes of Gordonville, sons, Allen Jaynes and wife Leesa of Springfield, MO and Carl Garmon and wife Peggy of Rowlett, daughters, Gloria Emery of Denton and Trish Sparrow and husband James of Prosper, 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, a brother, Oâ??Neill Jaynes and wife Sue of Southlake, 4 sisters, Jo Story of Little Elm, Bobbie Berryman of Crosby, Lorene Morris of Harleton and Mable Ball and husband Buzzy of Lone Star.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Orville Jaynes and a sister, Frieda Story.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
