April 13, 1921 –  September 3, 2010  GORDONVILLE-Memorial service for Virgie Elizabeth Meadows, 89, will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Rev. Rick Carney officiating.
Mrs. Meadows passed away on Friday, September 3, 2010 at the Homestead of Collinsville.

Virgie was born on April 13, 1921 in Dallas, Texas, to Dewey Allen and Rosie (Elkins) Smith. She married James M. “Toby” Meadows in April, 1978 in Irving, Texas. She loved going to flea markets and garage sales, and enjoyed collecting dolls. She attended New Beginnings Church in Gainesville.

Survivors include her husband, James “Toby” Meadows of Gordonville, Texas; 2 sons, Joe Johnson and wife, Sandra of Palm Beach, Florida and Rickey L. Johnson and wife, Sandra of Rome, Texas; a daughter, Carol Upchurch of Little Elm, Texas; 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 6 great great-grandchildren, and a brother, Jack Hillard and wife, Edna of Tioga, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and 2 sons, Donald Wayne Dorrell and Roger Dorrell.
