August 5, 1945 –  May 2, 2011  A memorial service for Roy Edward Lewis, 65 of Gainesville will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 4th at Family Life Church with Pastor Larry Eberhart officiating.
Mr. Lewis was born August 5, 1945, in Gainesville, Texas to Wilford and Rose Marie Lewis. He died May 2, 2011 at North Texas Medical Center. Roy married Betty Darlene Whitley November 28, 1964 in Dallas, Texas. He served three tours of duty in Viet Nam while in the Army. He also served in the National Guard. Roy was a Gainesville High School and Cooke County College graduate. He had worked for the City of Gainesville for eighteen years, presently as a Building Official.

Roy Edward Lewis is survived by his wife of 47 years, Betty Lewis of Gainesville; daughters, Shelly Farrell of Nevada, Texas, Cheryl Bostick of Gainesville and Constance Stone of Justin; sister, Ellen Tieking of Hereford and seven grandchildren.

Cremation is under the direction of Clement-Keel Funeral Home.
