September 14, 1921 –  May 1, 2017  Funeral Services for Ray David West will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 5th at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Gainesville with Kevin Barke officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tyler Barke, Carter Barke, Matthew Bozarth, Meritt Banks, Mason Banks, Kent Garner and Scott Bransford. Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Ray David West passed away Monday, May 1, 2017 at his residence in Gainesville with his family by his side at the age of ninety-five. He was born September 14, 1921 in Bulcher, Texas to Theodore and Vada (Robison) West. Ray married Waunema Reeves August 16, 1941. He owned and operated Reeves and West Grocery in excess of twenty years and was a letter carrier for the Postal Service before retiring.

Survivors include his three daughters and their spouses, Wanda and Ralph Banks of Gainesville, Judy and Jim Luster of Gainesville and Pam and Bob Bransford of Gainesville; nine grandchildren, Brent Banks, Kim Maisel, Vicki Barke, Jennifer Bozarth, Michelle Hacker, Ronnie Abbe, Justin Luster, Amanda Scivally, and Scott Bransford, fourteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three sisters and a brother.
