October 30, 1955 –  February 3, 2015  WHITESBORO – Funeral services for Patricia Lynn Carney Mitchell, 59, will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2015, at 10:00 a.m., at the First Baptist Church of Collinsville, Texas with Rev. Jerry Davis and Rev. Rick Carney officiating. Interment will follow the services at the Collinsville Cemetery. All services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro. The visitation services will be held Friday, February 6, from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.She died on February 3, 2015 in Whitesboro, Texas.
Patty was born on October 30, 1955 to C. J. and Virginia “Bunkey” (Overturff) Carney. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Collinsville. Patty had been employed by Whitesboro ISD for 24 years. She loved her job as the principal of Whitesboro Middle School. She had served in the education field for 39 years. For many years, she was a member of the Collinsville ISD School Board. Her grandchildren were her hobby. She enjoyed working in her garden, cooking for others, going shopping, and making trips to the Winstar Casino. She was always taking care of other people.
She is survived by her children: Shane Mitchell and wife, Linda, of Sadler; Shanna Reynolds and husband, Chase, of Sadler; and daughter, Sheryl Bentley and husband, Mark, of Howe; grandchildren: Kyle Belz, C. J. Reynolds, Kayla Bentley, Hadley Bentley, Madison Love, and Autum Mitchell; and many friends and loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her parents, C. J. and Bunkey Carney.
The pallbearers will be Ronnie Carney, Royce Melton, Ed Miller, Rendel Cole, Kenny Gessett, and Jimmy Don Neely and Roy Blair.
