July 4, 1931 –  February 25, 2018  Woodbine – Funeral services for Norma June Gunter, 86 of Woodbine, TX will be at 2 O’clock on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Gainesville with Rev. David Whittington officiating. Interment will be at Nelson Grove Cemetery in Woodbine, TX following the service. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Norma passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at the Whitesboro Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on July 4, 1931 in Collinsville, TX to Hallie Ray Overturff and Winnie Geraldine (Harris) Overturff. She married Boyd Gunter on December 24, 1949 in Callisburg, TX. She was the owner of Norma’s Beauty Shop for many years. Norma was a member of Woodbine Baptist Church. She enjoyed helping people and working in her flower gardens.
Norma is survived by a son, Mark Allen Gunter and wife Shirley of Piedmont, OK; a daughter, Virginia Karen Vannoy of Gainesville, TX; 6 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Boyd Gunter; and son, Ronald Boyd Gunter, a sister, Bunkey Carney; a brother, Butch Overturff.
